Dustin Merryfield

Author of Abusing the Public Trust & Sexually Violent Predator

Dustin Merryfield

At the age of ten Dustin Merryfield was deemed a child in need of care by the State of Kansas and sent to different state and private-run facilities. Eventually, Mr. Merryfield went into committing crimes and ended up in adult prison while a teenager.         At the conclusion of the prison sentence, Mr. Merryfield knew he was not ready to be released to the adult world, for which he had no experience.  Using the knowledge of the legal system and his family he argued for civil commitment to treatment.  This was successful on December 20, 2000, he was committed under the Kansas Sexually Violent Predator Act (KSVPA).      The facility under the KSVPA has slowly eroded to the point of being extremely oppressive.  This led the author to write books concerning the facts of the KSVPA and its commitment schemes.      Mr. Merryfield currently has been under the KSVPA program for twenty-three years.  He holds an Associate's Degree in Theology, a Bachelor's Degree in Theology, Diplomas in Accounting, PC Repair and Criminal Justice.  In addition to this he holds degrees in Business, Computers and has a degree in Paralegal and a Paralegal Degree in Advanced Business Law.  He also has many Vocational Certificates in various areas (i.e. Life Training, Lifeguard, Horticulture, Computer Assisted Drafting and more).
